In the book Mississippi Trial, 1955 , Why did Hiram say that “It was good to be back in Greenwood. I had come back home, and I was free.” Why is this quote important?

He could never understand why his father did not like his hometown. Hiram only remembered the good times. It is a foreboding of what is to come: it’s not really good to be home and he really isn’t as free as he thought.

It’s a thoughtful book that teaches us the true meaning of personal responsibility, accountability, and freedom.
